BMCLA Engages Public and Stakeholders at Agrofest 2026
Bridgetown, Barbados – March 2026 — The Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) participated in Agrofest 2026, Barbados’ premier and largest annual agricultural festival, held from February 27 to March 1, 2026.
Agrofest is hosted by the Barbados Agricultural Society (BAS) and serves as the island’s leading platform for showcasing innovations, developments, and opportunities across the agricultural sector. BMCLA’s participation formed part of its ongoing commitment to public education, stakeholder engagement, and national awareness regarding the medicinal cannabis industry.
Throughout the three-day event, the BMCLA engaged directly with members of the public, farmers, stakeholders, and industry partners. The Authority used the opportunity to provide information on its regulatory role, licensing framework, and the importance of compliance, safety, and responsible participation in the medicinal cannabis sector.
BMCLA’s presence at Agrofest 2026 supported its wider mandate to promote education and public awareness, while fostering dialogue with key stakeholders on the role of medicinal cannabis within Barbados’ agricultural and economic development landscape.
The Authority remains committed to transparent regulation, stakeholder collaboration, and ensuring that the medicinal cannabis industry operates in a manner that is well-regulated, and beneficial to Barbados.
