All forms of cannabis remain prescription-only medicines
All forms of cannabis remain prescription-only medicines
All forms of cannabis, including hemp and edibles, remain prescription-only medicines under local law.
This reminder came from a representative of the Barbados Pharmacy Council, pharmacist Bandele Serrano, who was addressing a media conference called by the National Council on Substance Abuse where a new drug alert was issued.
He reminded the public that all forms of cannabis, including hemp and edibles, remain prescription-only medicines under local law.
Mr. Serrano also noted that the Council, established in 1973 under the Pharmacy Act, regulates pharmacists, premises and all medicines entering the island.
He warns that edibles and products packaged to attract children are illegal, and only prescribed medicinal cannabis is allowed.
